ADVANTAGES OF GAS FIRE PITS

1. Gas fire pits are convenient! You can turn them on and off instantly and some can be controlled by remote control.

2. Gas fire pits don't need as much clearance from flammable surfaces and can be used in suburban or urban areas where wood fires are restricted.

3. Since gas fire pits do not produce embers and ash like wood burning fire pits, cleanup is kept to a minimum.

WARNING! DO NOT USE THE FOLLOWING

1. River Rock - Don't use river rock around your steel fire pit rings. River rock can build up internal gases and explode when subjected to high temperatures.

2. Beach Sand - Beach sand contains silicon and retains moisture. The moisture could in turn cause your steel fire pit rings to rust.

Fire Pit Ring

Steel fire pit rings are used to create an attractive and functional gas fire pit. Below you will find steel fire pit rings that are rectangular as well as round and in many different sizes. You can also buy less expensive black steel fire pit rings but are sure to rust much quicker than stainless steel fire pit rings. If you would like to know how to set up your steel fire pit rings check out my How to Build a Fire Pit page. Gas fire pits, like gas grills, run on propane (LP) or natural gas (Methane). However, before you do anything I highly recommend getting a qualified professional to run and connect the gas line to your steel fire pit ring.

** Please note that these are the rings ONLY. If you want to buy the plumbing fittings and valve together with the fire pit ring, please go to the Fire Pit Kit page. **

Round Stainless Steel Fire Pit Rings

The round stainless steel fire pit rings come in sizes ranging from 12 inches in diameter to 36 inches in diameter and may be used with natural or LP gas. You may install the gas plug/cap on either end of the steel fire pit rings to allow the gas outlet holes to be pointed in the upward or downward position.

Round Black Steel Fire Pit Rings

The round black steel fire pit rings are less expensive than the stainless steel fire pit rings but are much more likely to rust. Unlike stainless steel fire pit rings, the black steel fire pit rings are made of uncoated "hot roll" steel. Other than the type of steel used, the specifications between the two remain the same.

Rectangular Stainless Steel Fire Pit Rings

The stainless rectangle fire rings come in three sizes: 12 x 9, 18 x 15 and 24 x 21. All of these rings may be used with LP propane or natural gas. This fire ring features 3/8 inch stainless steel pipe construction which connect to 1/2 inch female pipe. Hose and regulator not included.

Rectangular Black Steel Fire Pit Ring

This black steel rectangular fire pit ring is 24 inches wide x 48 inches long. Like the round steel fire pit rings, you can use either LP or natural gas. If you have concrete or some sort of non-combustible surface to set up your fire pit, you can easily construct your own fire pit. Besides a good surface, all you need to set up your rectangular steel fire pit ring is nonporous stone, a propane tank, a hose with high-pressure regulator and a fitting assembly.

Square Stainless Steel Fire Pit Rings

The square stainless steel fire pit rings are available in 12", 18" and 24" sizes. The holes on these rings are drilled instead of punched which gives them a much cleaner finish. As with the other rings, the square stainless rings will work with either LP propane or natural gas. The hub size is 1/2".
